South Beach Miami

We drove to South Point beach today.  Sweet Pea was so happy to have some time to play in the ocean.

Shannon and Trudy sat on the beach and chatted.

We had paid $20 for our parking spot and didn’t  want to lose it so we decided to walk to find a lunch restaurant.

Last night Shannon had requested trying to find Cuban food so Ross found one with good reviews and we headed there.  Unfortunately it was a little farther walk than we anticipated and we really wore Grandma Trudy out trying to get there.  Finally we made it to Las Olas Cafe and boy was it worth the walk.  It was small with only a few tables.

We split a Cubano, a delicious sandwich with pork, ham and pickles on thin, crispy Cuban bread. They did cut it half a strange way, but it was yummy!

Grandma Trudy got some chicken over a bed of rice which was also fantastic.

We had a great time here and the food was amazing.

Luckily we discovered Swoop, a “free” ($ tip only) transport service back to our car so Grandma Trudy didn’t have to walk more miles.  What a fun day!
